Debbie presents an on-point argument with logic, rationality, reason, and facts in rebuttal of the essay. Or maybe not. Perhaps she just posts what makes her ffffffeeeeelllll gggggooooodddd. That is all that is necessary in her mind.
Many people grow up mistrusting others. A mature and fully functioning adult gets over poor social programming in childhood. And since most African Americans are of mixed race, does this mistrust apply to the bits of themselves which relate to other ancestries? That must be confusing.
In a smaller way, I just posted four blogs on my own Psych Today site that blow out the walls on this issue with respect to gender "gaps" NOT necessarily reflecting bias, whereas the discourse around them clearly reflects scientific biases:

Nedra De Lima, White Plains, MD. Experienced 8775 minority status 8776 when we moved stateside from Hawaii in the 75s. I was most often identified as Hispanic/Mexican. Does it matter whether this disparity exists because of racial injustices for which the successful white applicants aren’t responsible? I think not. Suppose that after we each earn fifty dollars working together, I am robbed, while you are not. You are now fifty dollars richer than I am. May I complain of your undeserved advantage? If by this I mean the state of affairs resulting from the robbery, then yes, though the complaint couldn’t be directed at you. The fact of your having more money than me is not morally troubling. Only the robbery is. Certainly you have no obligation to offset an “advantage” like this that doesn’t render you any better off, nor result from anything wrong that you’ve done.

Here is a partial list of "victim groups" identified by these academics:
women, African Americans, Latinos, Asians, immigrants, lower social class people, Muslims, Arabs, Native Americans, elderly people, overweight people, unmarried people, gays, lesbians, bisexual people, transgendered people, disabled people. I am sure I have left some out. By this count almost all of us are "victims."
Feminist Peggy McIntosh 8767 s essay 8775 White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack 8776 may have been published in 6989, but its blueprint for identifying 8775 white privilege 8776 is now worth academic bonus points to 8775 Aztecs 8776 in 7567. A copy of one sociology class 8767 8775 White Privilege Checklist 8776 was forwarded to an educational watchdog on Tuesday and confirmed by its author Tuesday.
After defending their account of white privilege, Dunham and Lawford-Smith describe how the race-privileged individuals have obligations to “offset” their race privilege. Here is how this would play out in a particular case:
I repeatedly forgot each of the realizations on this list until I wrote it down. For me, white privilege has turned out to be an elusive and fugitive subject. The pressure to avoid it is great, for in facing it I must give up the myth of meritocracy. If these things are true, this is not such a free country one&rsquo s life is not what one makes it many doors open for certain people through no virtues of their own.
